To promote scientific literacy, EDC works to make science learning more engaging and accessible for all learners. From preK-12 schools to afterschool programs to adult education, our instructional resources deftly use inquiry-based approaches to deepen understanding of science concepts, build data literacy and critical thinking, hone reading and writing skills in the context of science investigation, and broaden participation in meaningful science.

Our science experts support educators in building learners’ data literacy, critical thinking, problem solving, and discourse skills. Our researchers lead rigorous studies that examine strategies to close opportunity gaps in science education and enhance instruction. From all of our work, we produce usable and practical knowledge that helps inform teachers, education leaders, decision-makers, and policymakers.
