Kirsten Peterson will present the session, "Facilitated and Self-Paced Design Strategies for Online Professional Learner Engagement" at the World Conference on E-Learning. The session will engage participants in reviewing and discussing instructional design strategies from two of EDC's in-process online professional learning projects, both with research components: a National Science Foundation (NSF) project that involves converting successful face-to-face computer science instructor professional development into facilitated online workshops, and a continuing education program funded by the Council of Academic Programs in Communications Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) to provide necessary training to clinical supervisors of speech pathology and audiology graduate students. Roundtable presenters will briefly share design strategies and to-date research findings from both programs programs (20 minutes) and will then facilitate a group discussion on how their project design strategies and lessons learned can be applied to meet the needs of participants’ programs.
